Arik Air

Arik Air, a Nigerian airline operating domestic, regional and international flight network. It is currently the largest airline operator in West Africa with fleet of 23 aircraft and also the national carrier of Sierra Leone. It operates mainly from two hubs at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Arik Air Nigeria is a privately owned airline based in Lagos, Nigeria and operate from both Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria’s capital to a number of international destinations including Cotonou Accra Kotoka, Freetown, Johannesburg, London Heathrow Airport and New York.
In 2006, Arik Air took over the former Nigeria Airways facilities in Lagos, some three years after its liquidation, and began reconstruction work. In June same year, Arik took delivery of 2 new Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft to fly domestic routes throughout Nigeria and, within the African continent from Summer 2006.It should be noted that Arik was the first airline operator to use a brand new airplane in Nigeria in 20 years. Arik was formally commissioned by a former Nigerian president.
The Arik Air fleet consists of two Hawker HS 125-800 XPs seating eight passengers as well as two Airbus A340-542ís seating up to 237 passengers. Their fleet also includes three Boeing 737-800NGs, 6 Boeing 737-700NGs, three Boeing 737-700s and two Boeing 737-300s.
They also offer three types of Bombardier aircraft with four CRJ-900s, two Dash 8 Q400s and two Bombardier Dash 8 Q300s seating between 50 and seventy passengers.
Arik Air reaches 10million passenger in 2012, within 6 years from commencement of operation.
The biggest news about Arik Air in 2015 was the plan to list the carrier on the floor of the Nigeria Stock Exchange by May to boast the capital base and also becoming a Nigerian national carrier

At the same time, Arik made a 3-star rating alongside 119 other airlines in the world. The only rated Nigerian airline, according to Skytrax website.
