Ardova Plc is a Nigerian leading indigenous and integrated energy company involved in the distribution of petroleum products with extended operations in Ghana.
It operates majorly in the downstream sector of the Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry, but has diversified its businesses into other sectors of the energy value chain. The downstream division specializes in the distribution of a wide range of petroleum products; Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), diesel, aviation fuel, kerosene, as well as a range of lubricants for various automobiles and machines; distributed mostly to the automobile, industrial, aviation and marine markets.
With an extensive network of over 450 retail outlets in Nigeria and significant storage facilities in Apapa, Lagos and Onne, Rivers State, Ardova procures and distributes products.
This also includes the manufacturing and distribution of a wide range of quality lubricants from its blending plant in Apapa, Lagos. These lubricants include: Super V, Visco 2000 and Diesel Motor Oil as well as the sole distributor of Texaco branded Havoline Engine Oils and Lubricant in Nigeria.
This respectable proudly Nigerian company has undergone various acquisition and changes since its incorporation over 5 decades ago as British Petroleum. The company then changed its status from a private limited liability company to a public liability company.
Acquired by Nigerians and the government following the indegenenization policy of the government in 1977, this necessitated a name change to African Petroleum, AP.
In the year 2000, the Federal Government under its privatization programme divested its remaining 40% to core investors which resulted to subsequent take over by a new owner, necessitating another name change to Forte Oil Plc.
Ardova got a major boost recently with the acquisition of Enyon Retail with its close to 100 outlets across 19 states and a fleet of about 200 trucks. If this growth trajectory is maintained, Ardova might be on its way to becoming the largest retailer in Nigeria.
