Dangote Industries Limited (Dangote Group) is one of Africa’s largest industrial conglomerates. It is a diversified and fully integrated conglomerate with an annual group turnover in excess of US$4billion. Its flagship, Dangote Cement is Africa’s leading cement producer with nearly 46Mta capacity across Africa. With the production capacity of 29.25Mta in Nigeria, Dangote has been able to help remove the country’s import dependency and now a net exporter.

In philanthropy, Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) is the private charitable foundation of its President, Aliko Dangote. It has become the largest private Foundation in sub Saharan Africa, with the largest endowment by a single African donor.

The primary focus of ADF is child nutrition, with interventions centred on health, education and empowerment, and disaster relief. Aliko Dangote endowed the Foundation with the equivalent of $1.25bn.

In one of its biggest collaborations to date, the Foundation in association with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and key northern State Governments in Nigeria partnered to eradicate polio and strengthen routine immunisation in the country.

In the energy sector, Dangote is building the world’s largest single train Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Africa with refine capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, while the Petrochemical Plant has the capacity of 900,000 metric tonnes per year (MTPY) of Polypropylene.

Its passion of transforming the Nigerian economy is already evident in the recently completed 3 million metric tonnes per annum of Urea and Ammonia fertiliser plant. Dangote’s investment in petroleum refining, petrochemical and fertiliser is in excess of $22.5 billion.
