Best Known AsAfrica’s most valuable and diversified industrial conglomerate; a leader in manufacturing, infrastructure, and self-sufficiency initiatives in Nigeria and beyond.

Dangote Industries, a large diversified conglomerate has consistently maintained its position as the most valuable brand in Nigeria, a status that is reaffirmed annually in the top brand evaluations and through its immense contributions to the Nigerian economy. This leadership is not only through its dominance in critical industries such as cement, sugar, salt, and more recently oil refining, but also through its role in industrialization, job creation, and regional trade.

Founded by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, the Group has grown from a small trading firm in 1977 to the largest conglomerate in West Africa, with operations spanning over 17 countries. Its flagship company, Dangote Cement Plc, remains the continent’s largest cement producer, with a production capacity of over 51 million tonnes per annum across Africa. Dangote Cement is also one of the most capitalized companies on the Nigerian Exchange, contributing significantly to national GDP and government revenues.

In 2023, the Group made history with the commissioning of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, Africa’s largest single-train refinery with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. This monumental project, valued at $19 billion, is already transforming Nigeria from a net importer to exporter of refined petroleum products, saving the country billions in foreign exchange and creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

Beyond refining and cement, Dangote Group remains a powerhouse in other industries. Dangote Sugar Refinery is the leading sugar supplier in Nigeria, with ambitions to achieve self-sufficiency through large-scale backward integration projects such as sugarcane plantations in Nasarawa and Adamawa states. Similarly, NASCON Allied Industries, the Group’s salt and seasoning subsidiary, dominates its sector with household brands trusted by millions of Nigerian families.

Equally important are the Group’s contributions to social development. Through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Africa’s largest private philanthropic organization with an endowment of over $1.25 billion, the Group supports initiatives in health, education, poverty eradication, and disaster relief. The Foundation has partnered with both local and international organizations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, to tackle pressing issues such as malnutrition, polio eradication, and maternal health in Nigeria and across Africa.

The Dangote Group remains not just Nigeria’s most valuable brand, but also a symbol of African enterprise, resilience, and transformation on the global stage.
