Best Known As

Africa’s leading mobility fintech; vehicle-owning enabler for gig-economy drivers; fast-growing, impact-driven brand

Moove, a pioneering mobility fintech born in Nigeria, was founded in 2020 by visionary entrepreneurs Ladi Delano and Jide Odunsi. From its inception, Moove set out to democratize vehicle ownership for mobility entrepreneurs, especially ride-hailing and logistics drivers by embedding proprietary alternative credit scoring technology into ride-share and delivery platforms. This innovative underwriting model evaluates a driver’s revenue performance rather than relying on traditional credit history, enabling access to vehicle financing where previously none existed.

Since launch, Moove has become Uber’s exclusive vehicle financing and supply partner across sub-Saharan Africa. Utilizing its data-driven platform, the company can finance up to 95% of the purchase value and deploy brand-new vehicles to drivers within days of signup. Today, more than 20,000 mobility entrepreneurs have completed  collectively over 30 million trips  powered by Moove-financed vehicles.

Moove has rapidly scaled its operations, expanding across nine global markets spanning Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. The company’s striking growth has been matched by major fundraising success: after a US $23 million Series A and A2 rounds, Moove secured a US $100 million Series B in March 2024, led by Uber and with participation from Mubadala and existing investors. That round brought its total funding to over US $460 million (including equity and debt) and valued the company at a remarkable US $750 million.
