Globus Bank, a digitally driven commercial bank in Nigeria, was granted a national banking license by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on July 10, 2019 and officially commenced operations on November 6, 2019. Headquartered in Victoria Island, Lagos, the bank entered the Nigerian banking space with a bold promise to redefine customer experience through a strong technology backbone and a distinctive “phygital” strategy.
From inception, Globus Bank articulated its mission of becoming Nigeria’s foremost digital bank, leveraging world-class technology to deliver secure, convenient, and customer-centric services. Its vision aligns with meeting the evolving needs of individuals, SMEs, and corporates through innovative products, seamless digital onboarding, and data-driven service delivery.
In a relatively short span, Globus Bank has scaled operations with 16 branches across key Nigerian cities and digital platforms serving customers nationwide. The bank has invested in modern core banking infrastructure and omnichannel capabilities, including mobile and internet banking platforms, USSD services, and card solutions.
Industry reports note that the bank has consistently strengthened its capital base in response to CBN’s recapitalization directive, securing significant investor backing to maintain its national commercial banking status. The bank has also achieved steady growth in deposits and loan portfolios, reflecting growing trust from customers and corporate partners.
