RiseVest was built around a problem that is particularly familiar to investors in emerging markets: the difficulty of preserving and growing wealth when inflation, currency depreciation and limited access to international investment opportunities affect the value of local savings. Rise says the idea behind the company began in 2014.
Unlike fintech brands whose primary proposition is payments, lending or everyday banking, RiseVest has positioned itself primarily as a digital wealth manager. Its platform allows users to gain exposure to dollar-denominated investments selected and managed on their behalf, historically centred on three principal asset classes: US stocks, US real estate and fixed income. The minimum investment advertised by Rise is currently $1.
Regulation and the structure of the investment products are important to understanding the business. Rise's current terms identify RV Fund Management Limited as a Nigerian company registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a fund and portfolio manager, with the RiseVest platform itself serving as a digital distribution and client-access channel rather than a bank or deposit-taking institution.
Rise's current company profile lists more than 150 team members and says the wider Rise and Chaka ecosystem has more than 850,000 users. The company has also developed a strong educational and research component around personal finance, including its Cost of Living Report, which in 2025 analysed 19,840 usable responses from participants across 12 countries.
