The brand story

The Coca-Cola story

Coca-Cola has been part of Nigerian life for 75 years, and 2026 became the year the company leaned into that milestone. The Coca-Cola System in Nigeria, made up of Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited and bottling partner the Nigerian Bottling Company, is in the middle of executing a $1 billion, five-year investment plan first announced in 2024; in July 2026 that plan became visible on the ground with three new production lines commissioned, two at the Asejire plant in Oyo State and one at the Challawa plant in Kano State, with more capacity upgrades promised across other Nigerian plants before the year is out.

That pledge builds on roughly $1.5 billion the System has already ploughed into Nigeria over the past decade (new lines, cold-chain equipment, water treatment, and distribution infrastructure), and a 2024 socio-economic impact study by Steward Redqueen estimated the System's Nigerian operations support more than 160,000 livelihoods, roughly 53 jobs elsewhere in the economy for every direct job inside the company. Plastic waste recovery, PET recycling targets, and water stewardship continue to run through the company's sustainability reporting, echoing the wider Coca-Cola System's 'World Without Waste' strategy.

Coca-Cola Nigeria enters 2026 as the top-ranked beverage brand in the country and one of only five brands to have held a top-10 spot in Nigeria's brand rankings for nine years running, a consistency built on decades of manufacturing presence, distribution reach, and a product range genuinely woven into everyday Nigerian life.
