The brand story
The Julius Berger story
Julius Berger Nigeria has operated in the country for over 60 years, delivering upward of 750 completed projects spanning roads, bridges, airports, seaports, and industrial plants, including landmark national infrastructure such as the Second Niger Bridge and the runway at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
FY2025 audited results showed Group Revenue rising 34.1% to ₦759.87 billion, Profit Before Tax up 38.5% to ₦41 billion, and Profit After Tax climbing roughly 95% to ₦30.2 billion. The Group also disclosed a substantial forward order book of ₦1.44 trillion in revenue expected from remaining performance obligations, providing visibility into its medium-term pipeline. MD Dr Peer Lubasch attributed the year's performance to the strength of the company's core business and the discipline of its execution model.
A significant strategic development was Julius Berger's expansion into the Benin Republic through a new subsidiary, Julius Berger Benin SARLu, aimed at capturing regional infrastructure opportunities beyond Nigeria's borders, alongside a refinement of its cashew processing operations to a lease-based model as part of broader portfolio optimisation.
Performance moderated somewhat in the first half of 2026: revenue continued to grow strongly, up to ₦424.56 billion from ₦343.45 billion a year earlier, and operating profit nearly doubled to ₦17.38 billion, but a substantial ₦17.46 billion taxation charge weighed on the bottom line, leaving profit after tax at ₦6.06 billion, down from ₦7.11 billion in the equivalent period of 2025 despite profit before tax nearly doubling to ₦23.52 billion. Total assets stood at ₦1.07 trillion as of 30 June 2026, broadly stable against year-end 2025.
