Raenest
Fintech · PaymentsMulti-currency accounts and payments for Africa's remote workforce.
Raenest is a Nigerian fintech company that gives freelancers, remote workers and businesses across Africa multi-currency accounts and cross-border payment tools. It was founded in late 2021 by Victor Alade (CEO), Richard Oyome (COO) and Sodruldeen Mustapha (CTO), and launched in March 2022. It started as an Employer of Record service before shifting its focus to helping Africans receive, convert and manage international payments. Its product Geegpay and Raenest for Business were unified under the Raenest brand in 2025.
Growth has been strong. In February 2025 Raenest raised an $11 million Series A led by QED Investors, bringing total funding to $14.3 million. At that point it had passed $1 billion in payments processed, with more than 700,000 individual users and over 300 business customers, and the company now reports more than $2 billion across 15 million transactions. It is approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria as an International Money Transfer Operator and holds a Money Services Business licence in Canada.
Raenest has since taken its model beyond Africa. It entered the US in October 2025 with new products including faster freelance payouts, stock investing and stablecoin conversion, then launched in India and the Philippines in February 2026 in partnership with TerraPay. With operations across Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda, and customers in more than 50 countries, Raenest has positioned itself as a global financial platform for Africa's remote workforce.
